Hyakumonogatari Kaidankai ~ Akatsuki

  

I was thinking about this sceen from quite a while. I first thought to commission it but I didn't found any commissioner in my price range... So I decided to do it on my own. And this time I'm really satsfied!!!! It came out exactly how I saw it in my mind!!!! First time in my life!!!

For the one that don't know Hyakumonogatari Kaidankai is a Japanese game that at first was used by Samurai to test their courage. Little explanation about the game:  From Wikipedia

Hyakumonogatari Kaidankai (百物語怪談会, lit., A Gathering of One Hundred Supernatural Tales) was a popular didactic Buddhist-inspired parlour game during the Edo period in Japan.

The game was played as night fell upon the region using three separate rooms. In preparation, participants would light 100 andon in the third room and position a single mirror on the surface of a small table. When the sky was at its darkest, guests gathered in the first of the three rooms, taking turns orating tales of ghoulish encounters and reciting folkloric tales passed on by villagers who claimed to have experienced supernatural encounters. These tales soon became known as kaidan. Upon the end of each kaidan, the story-teller would enter the third room and extinguished one andon, look in the mirror and make their way back to the first room. With each passing tale, the room slowly grew darker and darker as the participants reached the one hundredth tale, creating a safe haven for the evocation of spirits.

However, as the game reached the ninety-ninth tale, many participants would stop, fearful of invoking the spirits they had been summoning.

Since Mirai loves to play Hyakumonogatari I thought to do an Akatuski version. Mirai loves to tell horror stories and she has a lot of fun. In this sceen she is telling one of this creepy stories trying to scare the others. Each of the guys has a different reaction.
I love Itachi's face, his compassionte/disappointed expression says everything! Since Hidan likes splatter things he is enjoing the story while Deidara is surprised/amazed.

I decided to draw just them three because they are my favourite Akatsuki guys and it would be to complicated to draw everyone.

Hyakumonogatari Kaidankai is also the most powerful attack of the Dark Soul Release of the Reini Clan.
